The Mount Elgon Sunrise combines two different coffees. To expand the fanbase of our popular Mount Elgon Washed, we have blended 70% of it with 30% Brazil Natural. You can expect berry fruit, paired with nutty and chocolatey notes. Due to the Natural Arabica bean from Brazil, this blend is perfect for both filter methods and espresso machines.

How is Mount Elgon Sunrise processed? 

The processing method of coffee beans describes how the cherries are treated after harvesting, which strongly influences the taste.

Natural - Dry processing:

The coffee cherries dry completely with pulp and skin, which transfer their aromas to the bean. The result is an intense, fruity, and sweet taste. This method is environmentally friendly as it requires very little water.

Washed - Wet processing:

The pulp is removed directly, the beans are fermented, washed, and dried. This results in a clear, elegant taste with precise fruit notes and lively acidity. The controlled processing ensures consistently high quality.

 

Our coffees are available in different quantities as whole beans or ground. You can choose between various grind levels – depending on the coffee machine you use to prepare your coffee.

 

For every unit of coffee sold, The Coffee Board supports the orphanage "Orphans Hope & Life Kenya" with 50 cents.
