Our own coffee farm in Kenya 

The history of our land

Since 1963, the small plot of land in Kianyaga has been owned by the Ngari family. It is now in its fourth generation, and great-grandmother Josephine planted the first coffee trees as early as 1965. 

For a long time, the land was not used, and neighbors had the opportunity to cultivate it for their purposes.

Great-grandmother Josephine also made it her task to care for and look after neighborhood children during the day.

In 2009, after her death at the age of 103, her son Dr. Peter Ngari and his wife founded an orphanage there. They also want to give something back to the younger generation and the community. The home is entirely funded by donations and the sustainable cultivation of fruits and vegetables on the farm. For every unit of coffee sold, The Coffee Board supports the "Orphans Hope & Life Kenya" orphanage with 50 cents. 

In 2020, the unused land was converted into a coffee farm, as the region is excellently suited for coffee cultivation.

The establishment of the coffee farm in Kenya holds a special significance in our ecosystem.

Our goals:

• Bringing specialty coffee from our own cultivation to Germany
• Creating stable jobs through continuous work
• Creating training opportunities
• Adding value for our children and young people through our donations
• Making the value chain transparent from cultivation to the coffee in your cup

Our Goals

For us, transparency and collaborative work are of the highest importance in our value system.
