Product Details:
Do you love a full-bodied cup? Do you enjoy fruity or floral notes? Do you want to taste the aromas of a naturally processed coffee?
Then we recommend the Busasa Natural.
Natural coffees are dried in the cherry and ferment during drying – unlike washed coffee, which ferments without its pulp and without oxygen. The result: Rich body and sweetness, a fruity-velvety richness.
Founded in 2014, the Busasa Coffee Washing Station by Zuberi Matsitsi of Matraco processes green coffee beans of the Red Bourbon variety from Busasa Hill and its surroundings.
Around 1600 coffee farmers live in this area. The focus of the washing station has changed over the years – from quantity to careful processing of high-quality specialty coffees. The income of the coffee farmers has also increased through direct trade and higher yields.
The name of the coffee comes from its processing method.
How is Busasa Natural processed?
The processing method for coffee beans describes how the cherries are treated after harvest, which strongly influences the taste.
Natural - Dry Processing:
The coffee cherries dry completely with the fruit pulp and skin, which transfer their aromas to the bean. The result is an intense, fruity, and sweet taste. This method is environmentally friendly as it requires very little water.
Our coffees are available in different quantities as whole beans or ground. You can choose between various grind levels – depending on the coffee machine you use to prepare your coffee.
For every unit of coffee sold, The Coffee Board supports the "Orphans Hope & Life Kenya" orphanage with 50 cents.
